A machine that won’t fire is almost never actually broken. In most cases the issue is somewhere in the power path rather than the machine itself, and working through that path in order will find it quickly.
Check the Cord or Battery Connection First
For RCA setups, make sure the cord is fully seated at both the machine and the power supply, since a partial connection often looks fine but won’t carry current. For wireless machines, confirm the battery is actually charged and clicked firmly into place.
Check the Foot Pedal
A faulty or unplugged foot pedal is one of the most overlooked causes of a machine that seems dead. Test the power supply’s manual trigger, if it has one, to rule the pedal in or out before assuming the machine has failed.
Check the Power Supply Itself
Confirm the power supply is switched on and displaying a voltage reading. If the display is dead entirely, check the wall outlet and the supply’s own power cord before assuming the unit itself has failed.
Rule Out the Machine Last
If every other link in the chain checks out and the machine still won’t run, the issue is likely internal, such as a worn motor or a broken connection inside the housing. At that point it’s usually more cost-effective to look at a replacement machine than to attempt an internal repair yourself.
